Queens, New York – September 12, 2024 – TravelSpan & Amral’s Travel proudly announces the successful conclusion of our spectacular summer events, hosted on the stunning island of Jamaica. This year's events embodied the warmth and hospitality of Jamaican culture, setting a new standard for our exclusive gatherings.
Our dedicated team worked diligently to elevate this year's events, ensuring an extraordinary experience for all guests.
Event Highlights:
- Caribbean Throwback Group: arrived from August 8 to August 12, during their stay, guests enjoyed a memorable excursion and hike to Dunn's River Falls, followed by a private beachfront concert featuring the melodious Trinidadian Calypsonian artists Ronnie McIntosh and Edwin “Crazy” Ayoung at the Bahia Principe Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.
- Curry Duck vs. Duck Curry Cooking Competition: From August 14 to August 19, guest arrived from all over the US, Canada, Trinidad and Guyana for this annual culinary festivity held on August 17th. This year's fourth annual competition was a culinary highlight. The event featured a private concert and celebrated the unique flavors of Caribbean curry cuisine. Social media influencers Sandy of Sandy Backyard Kitchen and Natasha of Trini Cooking with Natasha, along with Dave Naraine of Dave’s West Indian, Former First Lady of Trinidad & Tobago Mrs. Oma Panday, and Head Chef Franco Bueno of Bahia Principe Resort, judged the competition. Ashantie Sanasie of Guyana was crowned the winner, with Andy Bissoon, Ragan Ramsoondar, and Jamaican Chef Tishaun Atkinson securing second and third places respectively. All winners received cash prizes and trophies.
The event was rounded off with a vibrant performance by chutney Soca artist Raymond Ramnarine, Randy Recklez, Veejai Ramkissoon, and other performers, including a Tassa group and DJs. The festivities continued into the night, leaving guests with unforgettable memories.
Over the span of two weeks, more than 300 guests combined attended the Caribbean Throwback and Curry Duck-Duck Curry Cooking Competition, marking a historic first for Bahia Principe Resort with a large private group, live cooking competition, and extensive entertainment. Resort guests and staff alike were impressed by the scale and spirit of the events.
As we bid a bittersweet farewell to Jamaica, we eagerly anticipate hosting these special events again in 2025 at a new destination.
